Responsibility
* Manage new investment opportunities:
- Qualitative evaluation and review (i.e. market/business model/strategy/product/competitor analysis)
- Building relationship with and assessment of management teams,
- Valuation and comparables analysis,
- Building detailed financial models,
- Pricing and structuring of new investments,
- Preparation and negotiation of term sheets,
- Communicating with and incorporating feedback from CFS Equity Asia MD,
- Evaluating organizational structure (e.g. effectiveness, scalability, management succession, IT/finance/ERP/CRM/SCM systems, organizational controls and compliance),
- Conducting detailed underwriting and internal due diligence,
- Managing third-party accounting, legal and other due diligences,
- Detailed review and negotiation of legal documentation,
- Preparation and presentation of Investment Committee papers,
- Closing/funding new investments.
* Manage existing investments including:
- Taking board/observer positions where appropriate,
- Building credibility with management teams,
- on-going market/business model/strategy/product/competitor review,
- monitoring development of organizational structure,
- ensuring appropriate management succession planning,
- ensuring completion of financial audits and other compliance activities,
- preparing presentations for internal quarterly portfolio reviews.
- Manage follow-on investments, refinancing, recapitalizations, trade sales, M&A transactions and/or IPOs of existing investments.
- Work as part of CFS Equity Asia team to identify geographic, industry, business and capital market trends, develop investment themes and cultivate internal ge and external networks to build deal pipeline accordingly.
- Develop internal ge and relevant external networks to support origination and underwriting of new investments, as well as portfolio management support for existing investments.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
- Fluent in English and Mandarin, spoken and written
- Minimum 5 years Private Equity and/or Investment Banking experience in Asia including growth equity, LBOs, M&A transactions, portfolio management, follow-on financings, trade sales, recapitalization and IPO experience
- Demonstrated track-record leading evaluation and closing of new investments
- Proven transaction and deal structuring skills and experience
- Excellent accounting and financial analysis skills
- Deep understanding/experience of underwriting and due diligence process
- Demonstrated ability and track-record to manage existing investments
- Track-record in taking investments to successful exits
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build relationships, trust and credibility with CFS Equity Asia team members, ge management, external management teams and intermediaries
- Deep and broad knowledge/understanding of multiple business models and business/financial strategies across a range of geographies and business sectors
- Demonstrated leadership - experience managing junior deal team members
- Must be willing to travel extensively
